Tesla Sandwich

Seems #6 was part of a car sandwich shortly after being delivered. I just locked in my color choices for #97 two days ago. I'm going with electric blue, hopefully it will show up better in traffic than the stealthy black.

My condolences go out to the owner of #6.

Mystical Leoplurodon

My son was looking for information on the leoplurodon, a prehistoric underwater reptile. We ran across this hilarious video that has almost nothing to do with the reptile. We both found it very funny. I guess my sense of humor hasn't evolved much since I was seven.

RIP AOL Pictures

I'm sad to hear that AOL is shutting down AOL Pictures, among other things. Back when Truveo was acquired by AOL I started using this site to store my photos. It has a decent iPhoto plugin and they don't limit how many photos you can upload. It was a great online backup for my photos.

In the meantime Bebo is getting 3 million photo uploads a day. Wow. I might have to give it a try. Perhaps AOL will allow users to transition their photos to Bebo....

First Official Day of Solar

Here's the graph from our first full official day of solar energy generation. Note the two colors show the output from the two different inverters. The panels attached to one of the inverters goes into the shade pretty early in the afternoon. If I trim some of the neighbor's trees then we could get the yield up a bit more.

And here is a graph from PG&E showing how much electricity we used over the last couple years. It seems we use close to 1,000 kwh per month. The panels are putting out a bit more than that right now, but will generate less in the winter. Of course when the Tesla arrives, we'll be using a bit more electricity, depending on how much I drive it.
